At Oakwood it is our mission to provide families with the direction and resources needed to help their teen and young adult children thrive developmentally, and the power to create and sustain transformative change in their lives. Adolescence and young adulthood is a time when people search for self-definition, discovering who they are in relation to their family, friends, and the world around them. In navigating this phase of growth some young people can experience significant challenge, engaging in behaviors that put their physical and psychological wellbeing at risk. This is especially the case as today’s teens and young adults face considerable social pressures and conflicting societal expectations. Given the convergence of growing independence and the complexity of teenage and young adult social interactions and life challenges, it is often difficult for parents to know when and how to seek help for their child and family.
Being able to clearly identify signs and symptoms of real problems and taking the necessary actions to address your child’s unique needs and challenges is essential to helping your teen achieve a sense of wellbeing and mental health. At Oakwood, we help families by finding and supporting real solutions to their challenges. We offer a wide array of services, ranging from individual psychotherapy to a full-service intensive outpatient treatment program for teens struggling with addiction and other mental health challenges. In all the services we provide we use a multidimensional, clinically-based family treatment approach that is highly individualized, integrative, and comprehensive. In doing so, our goal is to promote human potential, mindful living, and personal restoration.
At Oakwood, we “get” what families need to feel supported, and we have the clinical resources necessary to achieve successful outcomes for our clients. We believe that families are complex systems that come with many parts, and as such we provide families the comprehensive help they truly need to create positive change not just for the adolescent, but for the family system as a whole.
